Today, The Netherlands is a modern and highly industrialized country. It is one of the largest exporters of agricultural products. The country was a founding member of NATO and the EEC, which is now known as EU.
The Netherlands took active participation in the introduction of the euro in 1999. It has Belgium and Germany as its neighbors and is flanked by the North Sea on one side. Holland is a province of the Netherlands, though people in other parts of the world often erroneously consider Holland as the name of the country.
Holland is a place with many tourist attractions. It has some very beautiful cities to its credit. Many towns of Holland are still surrounded by canals and castle walls.
